John Brown Quintet
Bassist John Brown performs with symphonies, chamber ensembles, and his own group of jazz musicians. John has performed with Wynton, Ellis, and/or Delfeayo Marsalis, Diahann Carroll, Rosemary Clooney, Elvin Jones, Nell Carter and the Ciompi Quartet to name only a few, and in notable venues like Carnegie Hall, the Blue Note, the Kennedy Center, and the Hollywood Bowl.
The Grammy-nominated writer/musician has toured world wide as an actor, also, and is Director of the Triangle (NC) Youth Jazz Ensemble. John holds a law degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and is Professor and Director of the Jazz Program at Duke University. Whew.
